BREAKING: US District Court grants USCIS additional 90 days in STEM OPT Case

The US District Court granted USCIS an additional 90 days (until May 10, 2016) to provide the new STEM OPT rule by extending its stay of the vacatur of the previous STEM OPT rule be stayed until that date as well (May 10, 2016).

This is a very good development as USCIS should be able to finish the work on its new STEM OPT rule and have it adopted prior to the old rule being vacated.  For those not familiar with the new proposed rule from USCIS in this matter, please see this blog post for details. This should mean that there will be no interruption for those currently on their STEM OPT extensions.  We will, of course, update you with any additional information as soon as it is available.
